Recommended Practice based on International Guidelines
The UN recommends that the following (high priority) statistical topics be collected for stillbirths:
Date and place of registration (if applicable)
Date and place of occurrence
Sex of fetus
Characteristics of the mother (DOB, children born alive to mother/fetal deaths to mother during lifetime, date of last live birth, place of usual residence, date of marriage)
Characteristics of father (DOB and usual residence)
Marital status
WHO recommends that weeks of gestation and cause of death also be collected.

Legal Analysis
Several UN recommended high priority stillbirth topics are collected through Form DHA-1663 (Parts A and G), as prescribed by Regulation 24(1) of the 2014 Regulations. The following high priority topics are collected: date and place of occurrence, place of registration, sex of foetus, characteristics of mother (date of birth, number of previous pregancies resulting in live birth/stillbirth/abortion, date of last previous delivery, gestation, address), characteristics of father (identification), marital status, gestational age, and cause of death.
The following high priority topics are not collected: usual residence of mother, date of marriage, date of birth and usual residence of father.
